  • Take U4P2 pre-test; correct answers together.
  • Check completion of Act II study guide (answers)
    • Discuss and make corrections, as necessary
HW:
  • FIELD TRIP TOMORROW!! Don’t forget money for breakfast and to dress “nicely”.
  • WW pgs. 79-81 due Wednesday; pgs 82-83 due Thursday; U4P2 posttest on Friday.
  • “Christmas Carol” Unit Test this Friday!

Tuesday, 12/11/12 FIELD TRIP to Cleveland Playhouse to see “A Christmas Carol” :-)
  • Daily schedule:
    • 8:00-8:25 Attend Intervention/Enrichment as usual.
    • 8:28- 8:30 Report to your normal 1st period class for attendance. If you’re in Mr. Merhar’s room, you will be dismissed to go to Mr. Warder’s room after attendance. If you’re in Mrs. Berardinelli’s room, stay there.
    • 8:31-9:00 Complete the “Before the Play” Acrostic poem activity. Play “Stage Direction Simon-Says”, if time.
    • 9:00-9:30 Get coats from lockers; eat breakfast; bathroom break
    • 9:30-10:00 Load buses and transport to Cleveland Playhouse.
    • 11:00-12:30 “A Christmas Carol” production
    • 1:00-1:30 Return to school.
    • 1:30-2:00 Return coats to lockers; eat snack in cafeteria; bathroom break.
    • 2:00-2:45 Report to 6th period to complete “After the Play” handout/activity due by the end of class.
HW:
  • Word Wisdom pgs 78-81 due tomorrow; pgs 82-83 due Thursday; prepare for U4P2 posttest on Friday.
  • Prepare for Unit Test over “A Christmas Carol” (the text we read, not the performance we saw!) on Thursday!

Wednesday, 12/12/12
Daily Objective:

  • Review and prepare for tomorrow’s Unit Test over “A Christmas Carol”
Procedure:
  • Copy HW into agenda
  • What is/are today’s objective(s)?
  • Student’s seats have been arranged into 6 groups of 5 students to make “Study Tables”. Each student will receive a Review packet to utilize at study tables with peers.
  • Options for how to utilize study tables:
    • 1) Complete the Common Assessment study guide together—use a book as reference to check your answers.
      • Discuss the story’s theme, protagonist, climax, etc.
    • 2) Complete the sequence page to review/test your current knowledge and comprehension of the story.
    • 3) Borrow one of the 4 envelopes in the front of the room, containing notable quotations taken from the play, as well as a written description of “who-said-what” and what the quote means.—They’ve all been cut into separate squares; spread them out and match them up appropriately with one another.
    • 4) Review old quizzes and study guides together—go over acts and scenes that are still unclear to you.
HW:
  • Study for tomorrow’s Unit Test over “A Christmas Carol” tomorrow! (Remember, the text we read, not the performance we saw!)
  • WW pgs 82-83 due Thursday; U4P2 posttest on Friday.

  • Design a set using stage directions
Procedure:
  • Copy HW into agenda
  • What is/are today’s objective(s)?
  • Take “A Christmas Carol” common assessment. <---POSTPONED UNTIL TOMORROW.
  • Discuss Common Assessment Study Guide together <--updated/new
  • Check WW HW –correct answers when everyone is done with Christmas Carol test.
HW:
  • Prepare for tomorrow’s posttest on U4P2 words
  • Finish Act II Scene Stage Design drawing (handout) <--extra credit, due Monday 12/17/12
